We have relocated our Castleford branch into new larger offices at Wesley Street.
The opening of the newly refurbished offices took place on Friday 26th of June when MP for Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley, Yvette Cooper returned to what was until recently her constituency office to officially open the new site. For Jordans the move will accommodate a three-fold increase in staff. Representatives from; the local council, Jordans clients, local business and the arts community all enjoyed a chance to network and have a look around over drinks and canapés.
The official opening also launched an exhibition of work by local artist David Wilders.
Yvette Cooper MP said “Going back to my old constituency office was always going to be enjoyable as I have a lot of fond memories about when my team were based there. So I was pleased to meet Jordans Solicitors in Castleford and to open their new offices at 2 Wesley Street. It’s great to hear the move means a tripling of jobs at the firm and I want to see more investment like this around here in the future.”

Simon Lindley the Senior Partner at Jordans said “We are feeling very positive about contributing to the regeneration of Castleford town centre. Jordans was established 60 years ago and this move marks our 10th year here in Castleford and a period of sustained growth.” We can offer local businesses and people access to high quality, good value services on their high street. He continued “The exhibition by David Wilders will help us to establish strong links with the cultural community and provide a new audience for arts projects.”
Yvette Cooper MP has been the Member of Parliament for Pontefract and Castleford and Knottingley since 1997 and is also the Secretary of State for the Department of Work and Pensions.
David Wilders was born in Castleford. He left the coal industry in 1986 after a serious underground accident and found himself attending various art classes in the area. This led him to the Yorkshire Art Circus where he learnt IT skills, resulting in him writing and publishing the award winning “History of Castleford” (1995) and “Brick by Brick – Pot by Pot” (2003). His work will be exhibited at Jordans for 2 months.
