Yorkshire law firm Jordans Solicitors were pipped at the post in the 2013 Lawyer Awards for the National Boutique Law Firm of the Year. They were recognised for the outstanding work carried out by the specialist child abuse department, which is based at the firm’s head office, in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

The Lawyer Awards were held in a glittering event at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 25 June 2013, attended by some 1,400 lawyers from around the country.

Jordans have been representing victims of child abuse since 1998, and have been involved in some of the leading ground breaking cases in this field, notably A v Hoare and others, Young v Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds), Various v Catholic Child Welfare Society and Others, to name but a few, all of which helped to shape the landscape of child abuse law.

Jordans were shortlisted for the award, with The Lawyer stating that they were “a trailblazer in this fast-moving area of law, much of which is publicly funded”

Christine Sands, Deputy Managing Partner of Jordans and Head of Personal Injury said “The recognition that Jordans have received in these major industry awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of the abuse claims department and the work that we do on behalf of victims of abuse.”
