Jordans Solicitors will once again be opening their Wakefield office to the public for the next bi-monthly ArtWalk, on 29th July from 5pm until 8pm.
Mark Wogan, our artist, will be present all night to explain his work in more detail, so come along to 18 King Street for a drink and a chat whilst you enjoy his work!
Mark Wogan is a New Zealand-born artist who specialises in oil, acrylic and charcoal art work in a range of styles. His inspiration and direction began when he started working life as a screen printer, where he won industry medals for his unique designs in 1997 and 1998. After 10 years as a screen printer learning how to grapple with form, negative and positive space, and colour, Mark turned his hand to applying his skills in the media he uses today to work up powerful images.
Mark believes that his interests in cultural anthropology and the human race in general imbue his work with an expansive expressionistic abstract approach to interpreting human phenomena.
Psychological, sociological and societal constructions of space, time, and gender are translated into art form by Mark to reflect his need as an artist to approach creation as a basic human need for self-expression, which in turn makes the process of creating his art a very therapeutic one.
“I enjoy using line, form and colour to translate the three dimensional world of space and time that we live in onto a two-dimensional space that is waiting to be filled. I also enjoy exploring discordant colour schemes and their use in various styles.”
