It is common knowledge within the Personal Injury legal profession that firms pay some insurance companies referral fees for contact details of those involved in accidents. The average person on the street however is not aware that as soon as they make an insurance claim for personal injury their personal details will be sold instantly on to solicitors or third parties who will then contact them directly. That firm may be many miles away from where you live and have little local knowledge of how and where your accident occurred.
