Jordans in Leeds Half Marathon Corporate Challenge Relay
On Sunday 7th September 2008 a crack team of Jordanian athletes pounded the streets of Leeds in the Leeds Half Marathon Corporate Challenge Relay. Gareth Jones, David Greenwood, Christine Sands, Nkem Emenike, Laura Moorby and Keith Castle “ran like lightening!” to finish 57th out of 95 teams entered with a time of 2 hours and 4 minutes.
Gareth and Christine have used this run as a short training session for the Great North Run they will be running on behalf of the Pontefract based Prince of Wales Hospice.
Christine was slightly concerned when David passed her on her 2 mile leg and went on to complete the race himself! Nkem, new to the firm, is now aware that if she shows interest in anything she will be put on the list and expected to take part! The firm will be looking to enter 2 teams next year in a hope to raise further funds for local needy causes.
