Jordans are proud to be in our third year of participating in the Wakefield Art Walk. For those of you who don’t know what it is — where have you been? On the last Wednesday of every second month a number of venues across Wakefield invite artists in to show their work and open their doors to the public. It’s really an arty treasure hunt and participants are never entirely sure what they’re going to find.

The hosting venues are anything from Chantry Chapel, Harry’s Bar and the Art House and Hepworth to our boardroom. The number of venues are slowly increasing and the variety and quality of the art is amazing. Most of the artists have local roots and are usually present during the art walk so that they’re available to explain their techniques and inspiration to visitors.

Wakefield has links to some of the masters of twentieth century English Art and is proud to be home to the Hepworth and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. At Jordans we like to think to think that by taking part we might just be encouraging the next generation of home grown talent.

So for anyone looking for a local night out with a difference please come along on an Art Walk — further information available from
