Jason Woodhall, who conducted his crimes in 1993 as an 18-year-old, has been found guilty of two counts of rape and four of indecent assault.
Woodhall befriended and offered to babysit the then nine year old girl before grooming her until she believed she was his girlfriend.
Following the girl speaking out about her abuse, aged ten, the victim and her mother had to flee due to months of torment at the hands of a gang of teenagers sympathetic to Woodhall, who chased and beat the girl.
The 38 year old from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was jailed on 31st March at Sheffield Crown Court. Woodhall, who denied all the charges, was found guilty and Judge Julian Goose QC sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
