The Wakefield and District Law Society held its annual general meeting on Thursday 1st May 2014 which brought to a close an eventful year for outgoing President Stephen Proctor. The past year has seen the Society launch its new website, roll out a programme of training events for legal professionals in the district and organise several social events including the main event of the year, the Halloween Ball, which raised money for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation and Liver Unit at Leeds General Infirmary.
Stephen said: ”It has been a privilege to be President of the Society. There is a real sense of achievement about the past year and I would personally like to thank everyone on the Committee for all their hard work and enthusiasm and also a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past year. The message we are getting out there is that the legal sector in Wakefield and the District is very much thriving and provides quality legal services for the local community. I have every confidence that the Society will continue to do well!”
