The disgraced teacher would get pupils to pick a card from a deck and depending on which card was chosen he would sniff or tickle their feet.
Primary school teacher Martyne Airey, 51, of Blackburn, Lancashire, pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual activity with a child under 13 at Preston Crown Court yesterday.
The court heard how Airey told misbehaving children, who were all boys, to stay behind after lessons and how the incidents were brought to light after pupils were asked by teachers why they were late to lessons.
At an earlier hearing, prosecutor Miss Catherine Allan said: ‘The defendant was working as a teacher at a school. The prosecution case is that he would play a game with children which involved him smelling their feet for sexual gratification. There is abuse of position, of trust.’
Judge Simon Newall told Airey that a jail sentence could not be ruled out and he will be sentenced next month.
