Daniel Lowe (21) of Ferryhill, County Durham was found with more that 200 Category A images.
A paedophile who was convicted in 2012 of four counts of rape against a male child was found with more than 700 indecent images of children ranging in age from three to fourteen years.
The gruesome images found at Lowe’s home and on his mobile, included images of visibly distressed children being made to perform sexual acts and one image which included a dog. Lowe was already on licence for the convictions from 2012, and was found to be actively looking for images of pre-teen children.
Judge Christopher Prince, sentencing Lowe to one year in custody, found Lowe to be “a high risk of harm to male and female children,” commenting that “Mr Lowe’s current behaviour is extremely disturbing.”
The defence argued that Lowe should be provided help due to his “distorted way of thinking” however the severity of the offence was clear due to the previous offences and the high number of Category A images that were found.
Lowe has also therefore had his period on licence extended to five years and must sign the sex offenders register for ten years.
