Following allegations by two women, which were aired recently on an ITV documentary, a third woman has made allegations of sexual assault by the late Sir Clement Freud.

Vicky Hayes, now 64, made a complaint to the police about being raped in 2010, a year after Freud died. The Metropolitan Police have stated that it would “make an assessment of the allegations to ensure the safeguarding of anyone at risk and also consider if any criminal investigation is required to bring any living persons to justice”.

The allegations against Freud are being considered under Operation Hydrant, the national overarching inquiry into non-recent child sexual abuse.
