Gordon Flemming a former primary school teacher has appeared in Aberystwyth Magistrates’ court on Wednesday accused of sexually abusing several girls in the 1970s and 80s.

Gordon Fleming, 66, of Oswestry, Shropshire, was charged with 61 counts of indecent assault against 23 girls under the age of 14. The alleged offences date back to the 1970s and 1980s and cover a five-year period.

Gordon Fleming did not enter a plea. Rhian Jones who was prosecuting, told the Magistrates’ that due to the seriousness of the allegations and their nature, the case should only be heard in the Crown Court.

Magistrates released Gordon Fleming on conditional bail. He will appear at Swansea Crown Court on 21 April.
