Jordans Solicitors are participating in the March ArtWalk.

The ArtWalk takes places every two months in Wakefield, allowing local artists the opportunity to showcase their work at a variety of venues around Wakefield.

Jordans Solicitors have proudly been a participating venue of the ArtWalk since 2008.

The next ArtWalk will take place on Wednesday 29th March 2017, and we will be showcasing the work of artist Wendy Ward in the boardroom at our Wakefield office, from 5pm until 8pm. We will also have readings from Angie and Michael, members of the Black Horse Poets, in two ten-minute sessions, at 6pm and 7pm.

Meet the Artist:

Wendy Ward

Wendy has been painting and drawing for many years and is entirely self-taught. She regularly takes part in exhibitions in Wakefield, Sheffield and Holmfirth. She paints in oils and also does drawings in pastel and coloured pencil.

Art by Wendy Ward.

She enjoys painting a variety of subjects including landscapes, wildlife, flower studies and also cars.

Wendy says: “Some of these pictures have not been on show for a while, plus one or two are newer works. The display includes flower studies, cars, landscape paintings of some of the places I have visited, and also paintings inspired by other artists I admire.”

Black Horse Poets:

The Black Horse Poets celebrate poetry in Wakefield with regular meetings to share work. The show runs from 5pm to 8pm, and Angie de Courcy Bower and Michael Yates – both members of Wakefield’s Black Horse Poets – will be reading in two ten-minute sessions, at 6pm and 7pm.

Michael describes their verse as “colourful, witty, exuberant and quirky”. And he adds: “We hope poetry lovers may come along for the readings and stay to become art lovers as well.”

We look forward to welcoming guests to the exhibition on 29th March 2017. With art, poetry and drinks and nibbles, this will be a packed event not to be missed!

More information about the upcoming event can be found at the ArtWalk website.
