The government is working on new legislation which will prevent “cold calling.” At Jordans we are in support of this legislation. We believe that as your local firm of solicitors we are best placed for you to approach us in person or over the telephone if you wish to consider a claim for compensation.
We have all had them. That call from an unknown number that fills you with a feeling of dread as yet another operator sitting at a desk at some unknown location says “Hello, I understand you have been involved in an accident in the last 3 years.” Some of us simply hang up and refuse to engage with the caller whilst others refuse to accept the call at all. Whatever your preferred method of dealing with such calls, most people would agree they are a nuisance.
The government intends to introduce legislation which would prevent “cold callers” working for claims management companies from contacting individuals unless individuals had given explicit consent to receive such calls. At present, the onus is on you as an individual to opt out of receiving such calls. It is thought that this legislation will put “the responsibility back on the organisation and its due diligence before making such calls.”
At Jordans, we have offices in Dewsbury, Wakefield and Horsforth. We are committed to working closely with you on a personal level to ensure that you get the compensation you deserve for your injuries. We will happily meet with you at an office convenient to your location or are available to contact over the telephone. We can provide you with direct access to your solicitor in person or can make sure you speak with them by telephone.
Claims management companies speculatively contact a large number of people in the hope of referring you to another company to pursue your claim for compensation. The person pursuing your claim could be situated anywhere in the country and is likely working on numerous other cases just like yours. It is possible that you will never have a face to face conversation with them throughout your case and if you wish to speak with them over the telephone you will be connected to the team they are working in rather than your specific lawyer, unlike at Jordans.
If you would like to see whether you are entitled to compensation following an accident, at Jordans Solicitors we have a specialist personal injury team local to you who are experienced in providing advice on a variety of injuries. We will work with you to ensure you receive the compensation you deserve. If you would like to speak with a member of our Personal Injury team to find out how we can help you please call 01924 457 171 or request a callback
