Oxley Parker School was a privately run school which was open between 1972 and 1998. It was based in Colchester and catered for boys aged 8 to 17 years old.

Former pupils of the school allege that they suffered physical and sexual abuse by former members of staff when they were at the School. One former staff member Jonathan Bridgewater was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after being convicted of sexual offences against former pupils in the 1990’s.

Many have lodged civil claims for compensation against the Eastern Counties Educational Trust who used to own the school. In response to the claims the Trust has launched a compensation scheme on the 1st June 2018. The scheme is expected to pay out “ millions of pounds in damages to former pupils.” The scheme will remain open until the 31st May 2020.
