Ainsty Lodge was a children’s home in Wetherby and is one of a number of homes that currently forms part of the Leeds Children’s Homes Group Litigation.
Jordans Solicitors have been appointed as Lead Solicitors in the Leeds Children’s Home Litigation which includes Shadwell and other children’s homes and assessment centers run by the Council. Molly Frost in our abuse team is heading up the legal team working on the cases. We are dealing with cases involving allegations of abuse spanning from the late 1960s to the early 1990s. Many of those pursuing civil claims as part of the Group make allegations of both sexual and physical abuse and assaults by members of staff.
Ainsty Lodge is also one of a number of children’s homes in the Leeds area currently under investigation by West Yorkshire Police as part of ‘Operation Polymer’, which has resulted in charges of sexual and other offences against children being brought so far against several former members of staff from various other homes run by Leeds City Council with trials of some of these staff members due to start in 2016.
There is as yet no cut off date for joining the group, but it is very important that anyone with a potential claim contacts us immediately. Where your claim relates to childhood abuse and many years have already passed it is essential that you take action as soon as you become aware that you are able to. We would also urge anybody that wishes to come forward, to also contact West Yorkshire Police as Operation Polymer is still ongoing and any assistance that can be provided to the investigation is vital.
Jordans Solicitors have a dedicated team of highly specialist lawyers who can ensure your claim is handled sensitively, enabling you to secure the best level of compensation from those responsible for your traumatic experiences.
If you would like help with pursuing a claim, please make contact with us by e-mail, telephone on our freephone number or by completing a request a call back form.Return to Cases Overview
