Chaigley Hall School opened in 1946 and continues to this day. The school has been subject to a number of allegations against former members of staff regarding historic physical and sexual abuse at the school.
A former staff member, Mr Phillips, was convicted of a number of offences of child abuse involving residents at Chaigeley following a police investigation. A former Teacher Barry Strettle was also convicted of indecently assaulting 3 boys at the school in the 1980’s. Other members of staff have also been accused of abuse against children in their care.
