Northumberland Village Homes in Whitley Bay, Northumberland was established in 1879 as an Industrial School and officially opened in 1880. It was run by a body now known as Northumberland Village Homes Trust.
In 1933, it became an Approved School for girls aged under 15 on admission. It later became a Community Home with Education in 1973 under Tynemouth County Borough Council.
