St Camillus Children’s Home near Tadcaster was run by the Catholic Diocese of Leeds. It has been the subject of many complaints of physical and sexual abuse. ‘Operation Courier‘ investigated allegations of abuse at the home between the 1960s and 1980s. Convictions have been secured. The manager of the home, James Bernard Littlewood, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for physical and sexual abuse at St Camillus and another home.
