Tong Park Assessment Centre in Bradford was a home where young boys were placed on remand before court dates or for assessment before they were moved on to permanent placements. The Centre was run by Bradford Council, was closed down in 1996 and has since been demolished.
Jordans Solicitors deal with a number of claims of abuse from people who were placed at Tong Park as children, with these complaints spanning a long period of time from the early 1960s until the mid 1990s when the site was closed down. We currently represent over 60 clients in their claims, which form the majority of a large Group Litigation against Bradford Council, which is proceeding in the Leeds County Court.
Tong Park has also recently come under investigation by West Yorkshire Police, with ‘Operation Sabrecrest’ having been established with the purpose of looking into allegations of historic abuse at the Centre.
