Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
Jordans Solicitors recognises that the practice does not exist in isolation. Clients, members of the practice, suppliers, professional colleagues and the local community are all affected by what we do and how we do it. We also have an impact on the environment. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy has been developed to ensure that our wider impact is a positive one.
Clients
When dealing with customers we ensure that we:
- Write in plain English and are transparent with costs and charges.
- Publish details of costs and charges on our website in compliance with Lexcel requirements
- Ensuring our website is accessible. Details can be found at https://www.jordanssolicitors.co.uk/accessibility
- Ensure clients are aware of our CSR policies via the website
- If something goes wrong, we deal with problems in an open and fair way. Our complaints procedure is accessible via Complaints Procedure
Members of the practice
We operate fair employment practices and encourage all members of the practice to contribute their ideas to develop our CSR policy.
Suppliers and professional colleagues
We try to use local suppliers as much as possible. This helps us support our communities and reduces the energy wasted and carbon emissions from deliveries. We support companies that have ethical trading policies.
When instructing Counsel and experts we have policies that ensure we select the best person for the client’s case, using fair selection criteria.
Paperless and Paper Reduction Environments
We aim to operate in a paperless or reduced paper environment wherever possible by providing digital solutions and encouraging paper reduction, including:
- Storing documents digitally using a Client Management System
- Using electronic signatures wherever possible and compliant with legal requirements
- Use of digital workflows and processes (e.g. for tasks such as communication and project management)
- Encourage employees to reduce paper usage by using digital alternatives whenever possible
- Considering paperless options for marketing such as digital leaflets
Charity
We identify one main charity per year for firm wide fundraising events. This charity should have a local connection to one of our offices, surrounding areas or staff.
We also endeavour to work with charities that are connected to individual departments, such as local Hospices, IDAS and NAPAC. The charities we are currently supporting are on our website:

Local Community
We are involved with various groups and initiatives in our local community and are always prepared to consider ways in which we can improve links with local organisations. We therefore particularly welcome suggestions from Directors or staff in this respect. The projects we are currently involved in are set out on our website here.
