Case Study - A Claim against the Church

Jordans Solicitors successfully represented the Claimant in a claim against the Parish of All Saints Church, Little Munden. The Claimant suffered abuse by a Reverend in the Parish in 1963/1963. 

The abuser was deceased, but the Church found a 1964 letter which confirmed that the Reverend had admitted to sexually abusing a choirboy (the Claimant). The Claimant located this letter prior to submitting the claim and we were able to use this letter as evidence of the abuse. 

The claim settled successfully for £17,500, and also included treatment being arranged for the Claimant by the defendant’s insurance company.
