Jane Matthews successfully settled a claim for a client arising from child sexual exploitation she suffered as a child placed at children’s homes and foster placements whilst under the care of the local authority.

The Claimant was sexually and physically assaulted by multiple Asian males between the ages of 11 to 17 years. The Claimant did make a report to the Police, but one of the issues that it was necessary to overcome in the civil claim was that the Claimant was unable to identify the males and the Police did not pursue her complaint.

Evidence was secured from the social care records, and this was presented to the Defendant. Based on this evidence, our client received a a negotiated settlement of £70,000.
