Case Study - Claim against a hospital

Our client was admitted as a day patient to undergo an operation. Whilst she was recovering and coming round from general anaesthetic she was assaulted by a male nurse who touched her intimately underneath her gown. A criminal and internal investigation followed.
A negotiated settlement was reached for our client to the value of £13,000.
Our client said: “I got in contact with Jordan’s Solicitors regarding a sexual assault I was a victim of several years ago I didn’t think that I’d have a case due to the fact it had happened some time ago. Jordan’s took details of the incident and said I likely had a case but there may be issues with the time frame. Jane Matthews was assigned to my case and spent months working on my case and due to the support and hard work of Jane and her colleagues my case was successful. The organisation accepted responsibility and paid out compensation. Money was not the end goal for me it was ensuing the perpetrator wasn’t able to do the same to anyone else as they were in a position of responsibility at the time. No criminal charges were bought against the defendant due to evidential issues the outcome for me was some form of justice.”
