Ex-teacher Jonathan Marshall jailed for 24 years for child sexual abuse

A former teacher at a school in Surrey, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for sexually assaulting a pupil.
Jonathan Marshall, 75, worked at St, Dunstan’s Middle School in Woking and targeted the pupil in the late 1980’s, when he was aged between 8 – 10 years old.
In 2021, the pupil disclosed that the sexual attacks had taken place in a neighbouring church. On one occasion he was driven away from the school to a deserted property, where Marshall and another, now deceased man, abused him, leaving him feeling ‘intense panic’ after realising he was too small to fight off the two men.
Marshall, under his previous name of John Lillis, was also convicted in 2013 of sexually abusing two pupils.
Catherine Wear from the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) said ‘Marshall is an appalling sexual predator who subjected the young boy to horrendous and repeated sexual abuse, despite the threats Marshall made many years ago, the bravery of the victim in coming forward has ensured that the defendant has now been brought to justice”
