We have also been instrumental in the implementation of Redress Settlement Schemes, including those against Eastwood Park and Medomsley Detention Centres.
The continued development of the Abuse Compensation Team has also been recognised through this year’s Yorkshire Legal Awards 2026, where the team has been shortlisted in two separate categories, as well as a third nomination for George Agar, who has been shortlisted for Trainee Solicitor of the Year for his work on the Eastwood Park Redress Scheme.
The team have also been noted in the 2027 edition of the Legal 500, for our work in this area. Along, with the award nominations, this is fantastic recognition of the dedication and expertise within our Abuse Compensation Team.
Commenting on the recent appointments, Head of Department Jane Matthews said: “I am delighted to welcome the new members of the team. As the department continues to grow, our focus remains unchanged; with our commitment to providing specialist legal advice alongside a sensitive and supportive approach.
“We are privileged to have built long standing relationships with charities such as NAPAC and Safeline, as well as being panel members of ACAL. By expanding the team, we are able to not only continue, but strengthen our ability to seek justice and compensation for survivors of abuse, as well as offering more support to charities and survivors seeking help.”
