NAPAC (The National Association for People Abused in Childhood)

Following on from Jordans Solicitors’ 100-mile bike challenge on 16th July 2025, during which we raised over £1,000 to support NAPAC (The National Association for People Abused in Childhood), in this blog we take a closer look at NAPAC and the vital support it offers to survivors of abuse.

NAPAC’s central aim is empowering survivors of abuse to take their first step towards recovery, through compassionate and evidence-based support.

It is the UK’s only dedicated national support charity for adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse, whether physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.

At the heart of NAPAC’s services is its free and confidential national helpline, which is run by experienced staff and trained volunteers, offering up to 30 minutes of supportive listening, basic signposting and guidance.

Survivors of abuse often cite their first contact with NAPAC as a pivotal moment, whereby they finally receive understanding, clarity and feeling heard.

Whilst currently limited by funding and availability, another core offering by NAPAC is their psycho educational support group model, developed to bring survivors together in facilitated and trauma informed sessions.  Those sessions are available online or in person, and help to build a sense of community, deepen healing and foster resilience.

NAPAC also provides a library of free downloadable booklets (many in audio format), which cover topics such as flashbacks and grounding techniques, survivor FAQs, support for male survivors and resources for young adults.  These publications serve both survivors and those supporting them with practical tools and emotional insight.

In addition to providing direct support to survivors of abuse, NAPAC leads training programmes and accredited e-learning, aimed at professionals across health, justice, and social care sectors, to ensure survivors are met with compassion and understanding in all settings.

NAPAC further undertakes advocacy and research, amplifying survivor voices and influencing national policy and practice.

Whether you are a survivor seeking support, a professional looking to deepen your trauma informed practice or someone who wants to help others, NAPAC offers an essential, survivor centred lifeline with dignity, respect and expertise.

NAPAC’s free, confidential support line is: 0808 801 0331
