Abuse Generic

Seven men and three women aged between 30-44 years old who were arrested in relation to allegations of serious sexual offences, forced marriage and modern slavery, connected to a religious community, Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, in Cheshire have been released on Conditional Bail over the alleged offences.

Cheshire Police said it was made aware last month of allegations that reportedly date back to 2023.

Its inquiry related to one victim, and it’s alleged to have taken place while she was a member of the religious group in 2023.

Cheshire Police say they treat all reports of sexual assault seriously and are committed to doing all they can to achieve justice.
