Taylor speaks out about the lasting impact of abuse by actor Alexander Westwood

Rogan Taylor has spoken about the lasting impact of abuse she says she suffered during her relationship with actor Alexander Westwood. She said she still experiences nightmares and trauma years later.

Alexander Westwood, known for roles in Sex Education and Doctors, was jailed in 2025 for 26 child sex offences. Taylor said the relationship became controlling and abusive before she eventually reported him to police after learning of allegations involving other victims.

This included sexual assault of a boy under 10 years old and two teenage pupils who Alexander had tutored in acting lessons, one of whom he raped on at least three occasions.

Rogan alleged the abuse against her began in 2021 and said she had to fight to escape during an attack. Their relationship ended the following year, but she said the experience has left her with lasting trauma.

Taylor said the abuse began in 2021, when Westwood sexually assaulted her despite her making it clear she did not consent. She said she tried to escape by biting him and pushing him away while he restrained her. Their relationship ended the following year.

The court heard that abuse of Alexander’s first victim began when she was six and he was 10. Prosecutor Andrew Wallace said the abuse continued for years and involved inappropriate touching and exposing the child to pornography, leading to the normalisation of sexual abuse.

Westwood was also found to have encouraged a 10 year old boy to touch himself as part of a so called game when he was 18. The judge ordered him to serve at least two thirds of his 15 and a half year sentence before parole eligibility, followed by four years on licence. He was also given a 26 year restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order preventing contact with the victims.
