Eastwood Park Settlement Scheme - last chance to claim

Jordans consulted with the Ministry of Justice over a number of years which led to the launch of the Eastwood Park Detention Centre settlement scheme at the beginning of 2025. We were one of only two firms of Solicitors nationwide involved in this consultation.
We are proud to have represented over 300 men to date, who have been detained at Eastwood Park and suffered abuse by officers.
This year we have secured compensation for our clients of more than £450,000, and more men will receive compensation over the coming months.
The scheme is due to close on the 14th January 2026 and we would urge anyone who hasn’t yet done so to come forward. We can accept instructions until 19th December 2025.
Eastwood Park was a Junior Detention Centre for boys aged between 14 and 17 from the 1960’s until it closed in 1993. The detention centre was run by the Home Office, now the Ministry of Justice. There have been numerous allegations of physical and sexual abuse at this detention centre, and Patrick Devaney, an officer who worked in the gym has been convicted of abusing boys in his care and received a 3.5-year custodial sentence.
To be eligible for the scheme, all you have to do is evidence your period of detention, which we can obtain on your behalf.
The compensation ranges between £3000 to £9,500 depending on the circumstances of your claim. There is no requirement to go to Court, and you will receive 100% of your compensation.
If you were at Eastwood Park and believe that you are eligible to submit a claim, please contact us as soon as possible to ensure that you receive the compensation due to you.
