Resident doctor charged with sexually assaulting 38 patients
Dr Nathaniel Spencer was employed as a resident doctor at the Royal Stoke University Hospital between August 2017 and August 2020 and at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley between August 2020 and April 2021
The Crown Prosecution has announced that he has been charged with 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration and 9 counts of the sexual assault of a child under 13. He has also been charged with 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration and 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration. The assaults relate to patients who were in his care when he was working at the 2 NHS hospitals.
The charges follow a lengthy investigation by Staffordshire Police into allegations of abuse.
He was suspended from medical practice in October 2021.
