Mark has well over 30 years’ experience in dealing with a wide range of personal injury claims but more recently has represented clients in this extremely sensitive and complicated area of the law. 

He handles claims against diverse groups including local authorities, schools, prisons and detention centres, religious organisations, the Armed Forces, NHS Trusts and private companies.  

He also acts for the survivors of abuse at Medomsley Detention Centre, in harassment claims and claims against tour operators arising out of the sexual assault by a hotel employee abroad.

Notable cases

  • HXW v Ministry of Defence – achieved a 6 figure settlement for the survivor of appalling harassment and abuse in the submarine service
  • FXC v Birmingham City Council - successful in a litigated claim where the abuse had occurred more than 40 years ago  
  • CS v Nottinghamshire City Council – successful claim that included an award for wasted expenditure on alcohol caused by the abuse
