Jordans Solicitors in Horsforth is supporting clients of local law firm Wilsons Solicitors, following their unexpected closure.

On Monday 2nd February, PM Law Limited was closed unexpectedly following an intervention from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). There were a number of firms within the PM Law group, including Wilsons Solicitors in Horsforth, with the closure affecting around 600 staff nationally.

A separate law firm has been appointed to assist the SRA with the practical aspects of the closure, however their role is to secure and manage files, assist with the administrative process and advising clients to find alternative legal representation. It is important to note that they will not be continuing legal work on individual cases, even if urgent.

What Should You Do Now?

Whilst this may be a difficult time for clients of these law firms, the best first step to take is to appoint a new solicitor as soon as possible, especially if you are contractually committed to a legal transaction, have an upcoming court hearing or there are urgent deadlines.

If your matter was nearly complete, you will still need new representation to finalise any outstanding steps. 

Those clients who held their Wills, Deeds and other legal documents should get also get in touch. These documents will be collected by the SRA, however we can advise on what to do next and have your documents transferred.
